Let us introduce ourselves

Hi ! We are students in a high school named Lycée Louise Michel. Let us introduce ourselves we are between 14 and 17 years old. We are tenth graders. In the class we are 30 pupils. We are all French but we come from diffrent origins for exemple: Algeria, West Indies, Tunisia, China, Italy... We would like to talk about us, our culture our hobits and our likes and dislikes. First, our high school is located in Bobigny, a suburb in the North of Paris. There are about 44 000 inhabitants in our town. We are very sociable people. Some of us really enjoy dancing, we often go to parties and nightclubs. We also like shopping in a shopping centre. We go to school 5 days a week. There is no class on Saturdays and Sundays. We usually start at 8 o'clock and finish at 5 or it can be 6. It's late ! We have a lot of homework, so it's very hard. We study about 8 differents subjects : French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Maths, Sports, Sciences, History & Geography. Our school's name is the name of an important in French history. Louise Michel* [1830-1905] was a revolutionary woman. She fought for the poor.
What about the name of your school ? In our school, we don’t wear a uniform and generally in French there are no uniforms in school our schools name come from Louise Michel. This year, we have a project called Cities and Migrations.We hope to go to New York and we are looking forward to meeting American students.
*A French anarchist (1830,1905) . She was a school teacher, and a medical, worker.

My name is Mukta M. I am a student at the International High School at Prospect Heights. I am senior and it is my pleasure to share my immigration story and my career goals with you. I came to the United States on March, 2002 from Bangladesh. For 2 and half years I lived in Nebraska. Then on August 2004 I moved to New York. It is great to be in New York. It is diverse. So when you will come to visit us, you’ll see that there are many different countries represented here, especially in our school.
This year I am looking forward to figure out the colleges I want to go to and the careers that I want to get into in he future. I am actually thinking of becoming a doctor or a nurse. Anyway, I think you’ll enjoy the trip.

My name is Joe. I live in Brooklyn, New York. I came from Fujian, China 2003. I have been in US about 5 years. Im a student in International High School@Prospect Heights. Which is the school that have students that come from all over the world. Central America, Asia, Africa. Im not sure did any of they came from Europe. Nice to see all of you.

Bonjour comment allez-vous mes amis. Je suis freeman je viens du togo mais actuellement je suis a Brooklyn, NY dans l’ecole International High School at Prospect Heights.
Je suis arrive a ma derniere annee avant l’universite mais je suis ici il ya 2 ans. aparement j'aime bien l'ecole ici on a pas d'uniform et aussi c'est gratuit le high school.
New york est un bon etat et c'est facile de ce deplacer car ilyaplein de train et plein de bus etc...
j'ai plein de connaissance a paris, lyon, creteille moi meme mais je ne suis jamais partit hahaha!!!
j'espere vous voir lorsque vous viendrai ici ce serais tres fasntastic.

my name is latifah i live in new york its a great in new york i be in new york for like 6 year now its fun i got to international high school @Ph. in my school i have 4 classes cause iam in the 12 grade but if u in the 11 we have 6 classes, also iam in a internship class its a fun class internship help you be prepare for the major that u want to do. but really ny is not bad as long you know more people you are fine, well bye and hope ya write back

I’m from International prospect heights Brooklyn New York is cool to be in school over her we go to a lot of trips and we have fun a list I have fun over here in my school is a lot of emigrants such as me there are Dominicans, Panamanians, Arabians, Russians, Chinese, African, Tibetans, Japanese, Bangladesh. I come to school in the morning but I’m just too lazy to wake up in the morning to come early. Now I have like a month I don’t come late.

Hi, my name is Jessica. I came from China. I came to New York from 2007. Now I am a senior in International High School at Prospect Heights. This is a small school for immigrants located in Brooklyn, near Brooklyn Museum. We have over 400 students from 54 different countries, so it’s a very diverse school. Now I’m taking an internship class in the school. This class has 14 students; we have class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after school. We learned the skills for interviews, we seek opportunities for internships and jobs, and we had a very good time in school.

Greeting!!! My name is Harold. I am an ESL student living in New York City. The best thing about NYC is the many opportunities that there is to get an education and good jobs. I came to the United States three years ago, when I was 14 years old. I am originally from the Dominican Republic. I came to the US without knowing any English and I have spent three years learning this language. Right now, I am enrolled in an internship class. In this class we learn how to create connections/network with people, how to do well in job interviews, and do internships. I hope I could learn more about you and meet some of you some day.

Hello my name is Geraldine. I attend to the International Height School At Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York. I’m in the 12th grade. I was born in Colombia and I came here when I was about 13 yrs old. I think this school is the best school an immigrant in the United States could ever attend because is a very small school that was opened five years ago. The school has many different students from many different places of the world. Chinese, Hispanic, Africans. This is a good thing because we get to know other people and other cultures. Our school has a different schedule. We start school at 8:40 am and we ended at 3:10pm but you can stay after school for homework help or any clubs. Senior year is very difficult we have lots of work. New York City is a very cool place, we have lost of police in the street most of the time and most of the people are very kind.

My name is Odanis. I am from the Dominican Republic and I have been in New York for two years. I want to finish school here because htere arre a lot of opportunities in this country. I want to become an Engineer. New YOrk is a great place to study those who are determeined about their goals.
